Organisation Dupont pour le Développement Social(ODDS)
ODDS is a Burkinabè social-development organisation based in Bobo-Dioulasso that empowers children and young people with disabilities through vocational training, physiotherapy, and inclusive education. Its Programme Handicap et Développement Inclusif reaches partner organisations across all 12 regions of Burkina Faso.
About
ODDS was created in 2014 (officially recognised 2017) by the Institute of the Sisters of the Annunciation of Bobo-Dioulasso, building on decades of disability and social work in the Houet province. Through a partnership with the Liliane Foundation, ODDS assumed coordination responsibility for disability-inclusive development programmes across Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger.
What They Do
ODDS runs the Programme Handicap et Développement Inclusif in collaboration with 17 local partner organisations spread across 12 regions. Activities include physiotherapy and rehabilitation at a dedicated centre in Bobo-Dioulasso, vocational skills training (sewing, mechanics) for youth with disabilities, inclusive education advocacy, and mother-empowerment initiatives. ODDS promotes inclusive education so children with disabilities can learn alongside peers in mainstream classrooms.
Who They Serve
Children and young people with physical, intellectual, and developmental disabilities in Burkina Faso, with particular focus on those living in poverty or in areas affected by insecurity.
