Polish Forum of Persons with Disabilities(PFON)
Poland's national umbrella organisation for disability associations, operating since 2003 with EDF membership since 2004. It organises the annual Congress of People with Disabilities and advocates for equal opportunities and non-discrimination for people with disabilities across Poland.
About
Polskie Forum Osób z Niepełnosprawnościami (Polish Forum of Persons with Disabilities, PFON) has operated since May 2003 as a non-profit public-benefit organisation assembling associations and unions of people with disabilities in Poland. Since 2004, PFON has been a full member of the European Disability Forum and belongs to the Coalition for Equal Opportunities.
What They Do
PFON unites people, knowledge, and resources in pursuit of the full realisation of the rights of people with disabilities. The organisation advocates for anti-discrimination legislation, organises the annual Congress of People with Disabilities (attended by approximately 500 representatives from across Poland), and conducts public awareness campaigns. PFON also monitors CRPD implementation and engages European institutions on disability policy.
