About

Scope was founded in 1952, originally focused on cerebral palsy, and has grown into one of the UK's most prominent cross-disability equality charities. Headquartered in London, Scope's brand was refreshed in 2024 under the strapline "Creating equal futures with disabled people," shaped by over 1,000 disabled people and carers.

What They Do

Scope operates the free Disability Energy Support service, runs an online community and helpline, produces research into the disability price tag (the extra costs disabled people face), and campaigns vigorously on employment and benefits policy. Their 10-year "An Equal Future" strategy targets closing the disability employment gap by 2033.

Who They Serve

Disabled people across England and Wales, their families and carers — particularly those facing financial hardship, employment barriers, or social exclusion.
