About

Shwe Minn Tha Foundation Myanmar (SMTF) is a public, non-profit, non-religious, non-political organisation founded on 8 May 2008 by Mr Myat Thu Winn — himself a person with a disability — in Yangon. The foundation is built on the conviction that people with disabilities can and should rely on their own strengths to meet their individual needs and participate in building a better society.

What They Do

SMTF delivers vocational training, employment placement support, and income-generating skills programmes for people with disabilities. The organisation also conducts community awareness campaigns to challenge discrimination, change social attitudes, and promote disability inclusion across Myanmar's workplaces and communities.

Who They Serve

SMTF serves people with physical, sensory, and other disabilities across Myanmar who seek practical skills, employment opportunities, and community connection. Their programmes reach individuals who have historically been excluded from the labour market and from active participation in society.
