Utah Parent Center(UPC)

Founded in 1984, the Utah Parent Center is Utah's federally designated Parent Training and Information Center, staffed primarily by parents of children with disabilities who help other families navigate schools, services, and advocacy under the philosophy of parents helping parents. UPC provides training, information, referral, and support to families of children and youth with all types of disabilities across Utah.

About

The Utah Parent Center (UPC) was established in 1984 as a nonprofit funded by the U.S. Department of Education to serve as Utah's Parent Training and Information (PTI) Center. Staff are primarily parents of children with disabilities, bringing lived experience to every interaction with families across the state.

What They Do

UPC provides training on special education rights, IEP and transition planning, dispute resolution, and assistive technology. The centre offers individual information and referral, bilingual services in Spanish, peer support connections, and guidance for families navigating the journey from early intervention through post-secondary transition.

Who They Serve

Parents and families of children and youth with all types of disabilities from birth through age 22 across Utah, as well as the young people themselves and the educators and professionals who support them.
