About this resource

About

The AAC Language Lab is maintained by PRC-Saltillo, a company with more than 60 years of experience in augmentative and alternative communication. It was created to give clinicians, educators, and families a structured place to find implementation support beyond what comes in the box with an AAC device.

What It Does

The site hosts over 70 downloadable books, games, Can-Do Activity cards, Smart Charts (visual guides showing exactly where target words live on a device), and mobile-friendly lesson plans aligned to Common Core Standards. The Literacy Through Unity and Literacy Through LAMP Words for Life curricula — developed by Karen Erickson and Gretchen Hanser — are available to subscribers. A core word frequency list and several introductory materials are freely accessible without registration.

Who It Helps

AAC users, speech-language pathologists, special education teachers, and family members supporting individuals who use symbol-based AAC systems — especially those using PRC-Saltillo vocabulary programmes. Materials span beginning communicators through advanced language users across all age groups.
