About this resource

About

The Association for Driver Rehabilitation Specialists (ADED) has set the professional standard for driver rehabilitation education and credentialing since 1977. The CDRS credential recognises professionals qualified to evaluate, train, and support drivers with physical, cognitive, or visual disabilities across the full spectrum of adaptive equipment.

What It Does

ADED's consumer-facing directory allows people with disabilities to search for a certified driver rehabilitation specialist or adaptive equipment installer anywhere in the US or Canada by location and specialty. The organisation also publishes consumer guides for first-time adaptive drivers and advocates for accessible driver rehabilitation services nationwide.

Who It Helps

People with physical, cognitive, or visual disabilities who want to drive or return to driving with adaptive equipment, and their families, who need a qualified specialist to assess their needs and recommend appropriate vehicle modifications or driver training.
