About
Bee Visual LLC has been creating picture-based communication and routine tools since 2005, beginning as hands-on physical cards before launching Choiceworks for iPad and iPhone in 2012, when it won a Gold Stevie Award for Best Mobile App. The company is family-run and focused on supporting children who communicate and learn differently.
What It Does
Choiceworks provides four board types: Schedule, Waiting, Feelings, and Feelings Scale. Each board displays customisable images with audio labels that a caregiver, teacher, or therapist sets up in advance. The app reads the schedule aloud as children move through tasks, uses countdown timers for waiting situations, and helps children identify and rate their emotions. A Choiceworks Lite free tier lets families try core features before purchasing.
Who It Helps
Children with autism (verbal and non-verbal), ADHD, Down syndrome, and other learning or developmental differences who benefit from visual structure and predictability. Widely used in homes, special-education classrooms, and therapy settings.
