About
ClearCaptions is an FCC-certified Internet Protocol Captioned Telephone Service (IP CTS) provider operating under Title IV of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The federal Telecommunications Relay Services (TRS) Fund covers all costs, making the captioning service free for eligible users with hearing loss in the United States.
What It Does
ClearCaptions offers both a dedicated captioned home phone and a mobile app for iOS and Android. During a call, captions appear on screen in near real-time so users can read what the other person is saying. The mobile app includes captioned voicemail, three-way calling, call waiting, adjustable font sizes and colors, and Bluetooth compatibility.
Who It Helps
ClearCaptions serves U.S. residents with hearing loss who need captioned telephone access. It is particularly valuable for seniors and adults who want a familiar phone experience with the added benefit of real-time captions.
