About this resource

About

Ekso Bionics is a US medical device company and pioneer in wearable exoskeleton technology. Its EksoGT exoskeleton is FDA-cleared for rehabilitation in stroke and SCI, and its Indego Personal device became eligible for Medicare reimbursement in 2024.

What It Does

eksoUniversity (launched July 2025) is a Thinkific-hosted online learning platform providing IACET-accredited CEU courses for physical therapists and PTAs on exoskeleton-assisted gait training, neurological rehabilitation principles, patient selection criteria, and clinical protocols. The EksoHealth website describes the clinical exoskeleton placement programme — rehabilitation facilities and patients can request information on accessing exoskeleton-assisted therapy.

Who It Helps

Physical therapists and PTAs seeking to deliver exoskeleton-assisted rehabilitation; and people with spinal cord injury, stroke, MS, or other neurological conditions affecting gait who are working with clinical programmes that use exoskeleton technology to support walking rehabilitation.
