Smartbox Assistive Technology has developed Grid 3 as an all-in-one communication and access solution used by thousands of people worldwide. The software integrates natively with Smartbox's own eye-gaze hardware (Lumin-i and Vida cameras) and is also compatible with third-party eye trackers, making it a flexible hub for diverse access needs.
Grid 3 provides symbol communication grids, text-based AAC, on-screen keyboards, environmental controls, and smart-home integration in one platform. Pre-built vocabulary options include Alpha Core, Fast Talker, and Text Talker. Layouts are fully customisable with personal photos, voices, and page links. Switch scanning speed, patterns, and auditory feedback are all adjustable to suit individual motor profiles.
Grid 3 is suited for people with motor disabilities, cerebral palsy, ALS/MND, spinal cord injury, Rett syndrome, and acquired brain injury. Its deep support for eye-gaze and switch access makes it essential for users with very limited voluntary movement who need combined AAC and full computer access from a single platform.
