About this resource

About

LAMP Words for Life is developed by PRC-Saltillo in collaboration with The Center for AAC and Autism, implementing the Language Acquisition through Motor Planning (LAMP) approach pioneered by speech-language pathologists. A 30-day free trial version called LAMP WFL Discover is available for evaluation, and the full system can be funded through insurance on dedicated PRC-Saltillo devices.

What It Does

Every word in the app has a fixed motor location that never changes as the vocabulary expands, enabling users to develop automatic, spontaneous language through repeated motor practice. The system scales from single-hit early learner layouts to a full robust vocabulary without disrupting previously learned motor patterns. It is available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, as well as dedicated PRC-Saltillo SGDs fundable through insurance.

Who It Helps

LAMP Words for Life is primarily used by individuals with autism who are learning AAC, as well as those with apraxia of speech and other complex communication needs across all ages. Its research-based motor planning approach is especially beneficial for individuals who struggle with variable symbol locations in other AAC systems.
