About this resource

About

LetMeTalk is a free AAC talker app for Android devices, created by AppNotize and supported entirely by user donations. It uses the ARASAAC open-license symbol library and has been downloaded by users across the world seeking a no-cost, offline AAC solution.

What It Does

Users line up pictograms from a library of more than 9,000 images to form a sentence, which the app then reads aloud using the device's text-to-speech engine. Custom images can be added by taking photos with the device camera or importing existing pictures. The app supports unlimited custom categories and individual communication profiles, and it functions entirely offline after installation—making it usable in hospitals, nursing homes, rural schools, and any setting without reliable internet access.

Who It Helps

LetMeTalk supports people with autism, aphasia, apraxia, ALS, and motor neurone disease who need a portable, low-cost AAC solution. As a completely free Android app, it is particularly valuable in low-resource settings, for families exploring AAC before investing in commercial systems, or as a backup tool when primary devices are unavailable.
