The app walks users step-by-step through evaluating their mobility needs, comparing manual wheelchair types and components, completing self-assessment checklists, viewing maintenance tutorials, and understanding how to work with a seating and mobility specialist. Video demonstrations cover core wheelchair skills including propulsion technique, curb negotiation, and tipping.
People with physical disabilities who are new to manual wheelchair use or looking to optimise their current setup, as well as caregivers and family members involved in wheelchair selection and fitting decisions.
The Urban Xplorer is a lightweight, adjustable folding white cane made from aerospace aluminium, designed for blind and low-vision users navigating city environments. It comes in four sizes (Small through X-Large) and features a redesigned dome tip, hardened aluminium joints, and a foam grip. The cane is built to handle common urban obstacles such as cobblestones, sewer grates, and uneven sidewalks.

It uses haptic vibrations to alert wearers to upper-body-level obstacles that a white cane cannot detect. The device aims to increase independent mobility and confidence during travel.
