About this resource

About

Nagish was built with direct input from deaf and hard-of-hearing users to create a private, accurate, and free captioning experience for phone calls. FCC certification means eligible US residents access the service at no cost through the federal TRS fund, and the app has been designed so that zero human involvement means no one reads your calls.

What It Does

Inbound and outbound calls are handled through Nagish exactly as they would be through the default phone app, while AI-generated captions of the other person's speech appear on screen in real time. Nagish Live extends this capability to in-person conversations, providing on-the-spot transcription for noisy environments such as lectures, airports, or medical waiting rooms.

Who It Helps

Deaf and hard-of-hearing smartphone users who want private, AI-powered call captioning without a relay service or third-party access to call audio.
