About this resource

About

NOVA was established to assist individuals with mobility needs through education, information, and financial support for adaptive vehicle equipment. The organisation works nationally and internationally to raise awareness of transportation needs among the more than 22 million Americans with mobility or ambulatory disabilities.

What It Does

NOVA's grant programme awards funds to eligible individuals covering up to 25% of the cost of adaptive mobility and vehicle accessibility equipment, with a maximum award of $5,000 per funding cycle. Eligible equipment includes hand controls, wheelchair lifts, turning seats, tie-down systems, and other adaptive driving aids. Applications are submitted through the NOVA website.

Who It Helps

US-based individuals with mobility impairments or ambulatory disabilities who need financial assistance purchasing or adapting a vehicle, including those with spinal cord injury, limb differences, MS, and other conditions affecting ambulation or wheelchair use.
