About this resource

About

Proloquo4Text is AssistiveWare's solution for AAC users who can read and write but need a voice. Available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, it is designed around a single-screen layout that keeps prediction, phrase banks, and voice controls all in one place.

What It Does

As a user types, the app anticipates upcoming words and full sentences to minimise keystrokes. Customisable phrase banks store frequently used messages for instant retrieval. Multiple high-quality synthesised voices are available, and the app integrates with Switch Control, external Bluetooth keyboards, and Apple VoiceOver for flexible physical access.

Who It Helps

Literate children, teenagers, and adults with autism, ALS/MND, cerebral palsy, apraxia, laryngectomy, stroke, or traumatic brain injury who need efficient, text-driven speech output.
