About
ReWalk is the flagship product of Lifeward Ltd. (formerly ReWalk Robotics), an Israeli-American medical device company. In 2014 ReWalk became the first exoskeleton to receive FDA clearance for personal home and community use; in 2024 the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services finalised a Medicare reimbursement pathway, and the ReWalk 7 launched commercially in April 2025 with the first major commercial insurer approving coverage shortly after.
What It Does
The ReWalk Personal system uses motorised leg braces, a tilt sensor, and a wrist-worn remote to enable users with SCI (T7–L5, complete or incomplete) to stand, walk at customisable speeds, and navigate curbs and stairs with a trained companion. Lifeward maintains a network of certified training sites and provides a structured in-person training programme for new users before community use.
Who It Helps
Adults with spinal cord injury at thoracic level T7 and below who have sufficient upper-body strength and bone density to safely use a wearable exoskeleton and who are motivated to pursue standing, walking, and community mobility goals.
