About this resource

About

Social stories — a method developed by Carol Gray — are short, structured narratives that explain social situations or behavioral expectations from a calm, first-person perspective. Social Story Creator applies AI to this proven technique to reduce the authoring burden on caregivers and educators who need individualized stories at scale.

What It Does

Users describe a situation or challenge — such as a first day at a new school, a medical appointment, or managing strong emotions — and the AI generates a tailored social story with appropriate imagery. Stories can be customized, saved to a personal library, and exported as PDFs for printing or use in digital presentations or communication books.

Who It Helps

Social Story Creator is used by parents, special education teachers, speech-language pathologists, and behavior analysts supporting autistic children and adults, people with intellectual disabilities, and individuals with ADHD who benefit from explicit social scripts and predictability when navigating new or challenging situations.
