About this resource

About

Published by PRC-Saltillo, TouchChat HD has long been a staple AAC solution for clinicians, educators, and families. The app supports a wide range of built-in vocabulary sets—including WordPower, Essence, and MultiChat 15—targeting different ages and communication levels.

What It Does

Users navigate linked pages of programmable buttons that speak messages, change pages, and adjust volume. A tilt-to-expand feature fills the screen with large text for silent or visual communication in noisy environments. Head tracking uses the facial recognition capability of newer iPad Pro and iPhone models for completely hands-free access. Supported languages include English, Spanish, Canadian French, Arabic, Hebrew, and Mandarin Chinese.

Who It Helps

TouchChat HD is designed for children and adults with autism, Down syndrome, ALS, apraxia of speech, stroke, or other conditions affecting natural speech. Available as a one-time App Store purchase, it is appropriate across all ages and communication ability levels.
