The VA's Rehabilitation and Prosthetic Services division operates one of the world's largest assistive technology programmes, providing AT devices and services to veterans with service-connected and non-service-connected disabilities through more than 170 VA medical centres nationwide.

What It Does

Eligible veterans can access power wheelchairs, scooters, adaptive vehicle equipment, smart home environmental controls, communication devices, and home modification grants through the VA's Prosthetic and Sensory Aids Service. AT evaluation, device training, and long-term follow-up support are included as part of the programme at no cost to eligible veterans.

Who It Helps

US military veterans with disabilities—including those with spinal cord injury, limb loss, TBI, MS, ALS, and other conditions requiring complex rehabilitation technology—who are enrolled in VA healthcare. Eligibility is based on VA enrolment and disability status.
