About this resource

About

Access2Arts is a not-for-profit incorporated association governed by a volunteer board of management, at least 51% of which must identify as Deaf or disabled. Based in South Australia, it serves as the state's peak body for arts and disability and co-leads the national Arts and Disability Network Australia alongside partner organisations in every state and territory.

What It Does

Access2Arts supports d/Deaf and disabled people to engage in the arts as audiences, participants, artists, arts workers, and leaders. The organisation delivers disability-inclusive training and consultancy for arts organisations, access services including live audio description for performances, and professional development for artists with disabilities. Access2Arts developed and continues to deliver Australia's first professional live audio description training programme nationally.

Who It Helps

Access2Arts serves d/Deaf and disabled people across South Australia and, through its national network leadership, across Australia. It supports both individual disabled artists seeking professional development and arts organisations seeking to become more accessible and inclusive for all disability types.
