About
Established in 2001 as VSA Tennessee, Borderless Arts Tennessee is the state's primary organisation dedicated to arts access and inclusion for people with disabilities. A Tennessee Governor's Arts Award recipient, it works in partnership with K–12 schools, arts organisations, and community groups across the state, including collaborations with MTSU and the Frist Art Museum in Nashville.
What It Does
Runs the Estelle Condra Education Collaborative, bringing professional teaching artists into K–12 classrooms for residencies in dance, music, and visual arts; offers free weekly digital dance sessions via Zoom; organises four or more annual exhibitions celebrating disability artists; and hosts the Young Soloist programme for emerging vocalists and instrumentalists with disabilities.
Who It Helps
Children, young adults, and adults with any disability in Tennessee seeking quality arts education and performance opportunities, as well as arts educators who want evidence-based inclusive classroom strategies.
