About this resource

About

The Braille Superstore (braillebookstore.com) is a specialist retailer serving the blind and visually impaired community with braille and tactile products across daily living, education, and recreation. Their board games section features popular titles specially modified so blind and sighted family members can play the same game together.

What It Does

The games section stocks tactile editions of Monopoly, Scrabble, Chess, Checkers, Connect Four, Backgammon, Parcheesi, Snakes and Ladders, Shut the Box, and Yahtzee, among others. Each adaptation uses brailled spaces and cards, drilled or embossed pieces, and tactile markers so all components can be identified by touch. A Braille Sudoku set and tactile dice cup set are also available for solo and group play.

Who It Helps

Blind and visually impaired people of all ages looking for board and card games they can play independently or alongside sighted friends and family using the same shared equipment.
