About
Community Access to the Arts (CATA) is a nonprofit founded in 1993 in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, giving people with disabilities powerful opportunities for creative expression through vibrant arts workshops and public performances. A 2020 capital campaign funded a fully accessible purpose-built arts centre with dedicated studios for visual and performing arts.
What It Does
CATA delivers more than 3,000 workshops annually across painting, dance, theater, singing, drumming, creative writing, and more in 16 communities in Berkshire County, MA and Columbia County, NY. Public performances and exhibitions allow CATA artists to share their unique creative perspectives with the wider community.
Who It Helps
Children, teens, adults, and elders with any disability in western Massachusetts and eastern New York who want to engage in the creative arts across multiple disciplines.
