About this resource

About

Curb Mobility is the largest provider of digitally dispatched wheelchair-accessible vehicle (WAV) taxi services in the United States, operating city-contracted programmes in Chicago, New York City, Boston, and other major metro areas. The Chicago WAV programme, which Curb has managed since 2020 under a city contract, is one of the strongest paratransit-adjacent programmes in the country. In 2025, Curb was awarded a five-year renewal of the Chicago contract.

What It Does

After downloading the Curb app, wheelchair users select the "Accessible" option to request a WAV taxi on demand or schedule a ride in advance. Rides can also be booked by phone at 1-888-WAV-CABS. In-app payment by credit or debit card is supported, and riders receive SMS updates and a live tracking link. The service is available only in participating cities.

Who It Helps

Curb WAV serves wheelchair and power-chair users, and paratransit riders who need on-demand accessible transportation in participating US cities — particularly useful for users who find fixed paratransit schedules restrictive.
