About this resource

About

Established in 1982 — originally as Arts for Disabled People in Wales — Disability Arts Cymru (DAC) is the only arts development organisation that is both disability-led and operates across the whole of Wales. Based in Cardiff, DAC is led by and for disabled and Deaf people and is funded by Arts Council Wales.

What It Does

DAC produces and promotes disability-led art across all art forms — visual art, performance, literature, and digital media — through national touring exhibitions, residencies, and events. The 2026–2027 touring exhibition Effaith showcases Welsh disabled artists at five venues. DAC delivers free Disability Equality Training consultancy for arts organisations, provides free membership and professional development advice to disabled artists, and advocates for inclusive arts policy at national level.

Who It Helps

Disabled and Deaf artists in Wales at all career stages who wish to develop their practice, access funding opportunities, or connect with training and exhibitions. Arts organisations across Wales seeking inclusion training and consultation also benefit from DAC's services.
