About this resource

About

Founded in 2017, the DOTS RPG Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to improving accessibility in tabletop gaming. After five years of prototype testing with real blind and visually impaired users, DOTS launched its Signature Braille RPG Dice in December 2024 — debuting at PAX Unplugged in partnership with Die Hard Dice.

What It Does

The dice use a single Braille cell per face and a unique Touch Point Edge design for tactile orientation, replacing engraved numbers with a consistent, readable system. Beyond physical products, DOTS runs an Access Friendly Gaming programme offering adaptive experiences and targeted support for disabled gamers of all types. The website also provides free 3D-printable dice models, a Braille-learning resource, and a directory of tabletop accessibility consultants.

Who It Helps

Primarily serving blind and visually impaired tabletop RPG players, DOTS has broadened its mission to support gamers with any disability who face barriers at the table. Sets have been donated to schools, libraries, and community centres since launch.
