About this resource

About

Handiscover was created by Sebastien Archambeaud after struggling to find truly accessible accommodation while traveling with his wheelchair-using son. Backed by EU Horizon 2020 funding, it has grown into the largest accessible accommodation booking site in Europe with over 100,000 reviewed properties across 148 countries.

What It Does

Travelers choose one of three mobility profiles and the platform filters to show only accommodation meeting their requirements. Each property is assessed against granular criteria covering parking, building entrance, accessible bathroom specifications (roll-in shower, grab bars, turning radius), elevator access, and floor plan. Payments are held securely until check-in is confirmed satisfactory, protecting travelers from misrepresented listings.

Who It Helps

Wheelchair users, people with limited mobility, seniors, and families traveling with disabled relatives who need trustworthy, verified accessibility detail before committing to accommodation — especially for international travel.
