About this resource

About

Move Through Yoga is a non-profit founded by Stefanie Gross that partners directly with schools and day programmes to deliver adaptive yoga for students and adults with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities. The organisation operates across more than 31 Denver-area schools through a partnership supported by Rocky Mountain Human Services.

What It Does

In-school yoga classes serve elementary, middle, and high school students as well as adult day programme participants. The annual Yoga Wave event brings together more than 650 students to breathe, move, and connect. An annual adaptive and trauma-informed teacher training intensive equips educators, therapists, and caregivers to bring yoga into their own settings.

Who It Helps

Children and adults with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, and physical disabilities in school and community day programme settings — and the educators and caregivers who support them.
