About
The National Arts and Disability Center (NADC) is a project of the UCLA Tarjan Center and Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior. As the only federally funded centre of its kind in the United States, NADC has served the arts and disability community since 1984, providing resources to artists, arts organisations, educators, and policymakers nationwide.
What It Does
NADC offers a searchable online resource database of arts organisations across the US that serve or include people with disabilities. It provides technical assistance and consultation to arts organisations improving accessibility, hosts the California Arts and Disability Resource Center, and administers an Arts and Accessibility grants programme supporting disabled artists and inclusive arts programming in California. The website is freely accessible and covers dance, theatre, visual arts, music, and literary arts.
Who It Helps
Disabled artists and arts professionals at any career stage, arts organisations and venues seeking to improve accessibility, educators looking for disability arts programmes, and families searching for creative opportunities for people with disabilities of all ages.
