About
New England Disabled Sports (NEDS) was founded in 1987 as White Mountain Adaptive Snow Sports by six volunteer coaches. Now headquartered at Loon Mountain Resort in Lincoln, NH, with a second base at Bretton Woods, NEDS has become a nationally recognised leader in adaptive snow sports instruction for all ages and ability levels.
What It Does
NEDS provides alpine skiing, snowboarding, Nordic skiing, and snowshoeing through year-round adaptive sports instruction. The programme's fleet includes TetraSki—a hands-free system for people with high cervical spinal cord injuries—as well as mono-skis, bi-skis, and sit-skis for a full range of mobility needs. Instructors are certified and match every lesson to the individual's goals.
Who It Helps
Children and adults living with physical and cognitive disabilities, including spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, amputations, cerebral palsy, visual impairment, and developmental disabilities. NEDS welcomes participants of all experience levels, from first-timers to competitive athletes.
