About
Founded in 1978 when fifteen children with disabilities first skied together at The Summit at Snoqualmie, the Outdoors for All Foundation has grown into the Pacific Northwest premier provider of adaptive recreation. The Seattle-based non-profit now serves thousands of individuals annually and has helped transform the lives of people with disabilities through sport and outdoor adventure.
What It Does
Outdoors for All offers adaptive skiing and snowboarding at The Summit at Snoqualmie and Stevens Pass from January through March. Sit-ski programmes serve wheelchair users including those with paraplegia, quadriplegia, and bilateral lower extremity amputations. Stand-up skiing options accommodate balance difficulties, amputations, and developmental disabilities. The Foundation also runs year-round adaptive programmes including cycling, paddling, and hiking.
Who It Helps
The Foundation serves individuals with spinal cord injuries, lower extremity amputations, balance impairments, developmental disabilities, deaf and hard of hearing individuals, and people with visual impairments. Both children and adults participate, and financial assistance is available for those who need it.
