About this resource

About

SitGrit was developed in partnership with the Spinal Cord Injury Transitions Group at Mount Sinai Health System, with programming powered by Social Creatures and Performance 360. The program was created to address the gap in free, clinically-informed exercise options that people with spinal cord injuries and physical disabilities can do entirely from home without specialized equipment.

What It Does

SitGrit hosts free live Zoom classes twice weekly — Tuesdays 2–3 pm and Thursdays 12–1 pm — featuring full upper-body workouts, adaptive boxing drills, seated dance, and yoga, all performed in a seated position. Sessions are led by Olympic-level and high-performance fitness coaches and are recorded for on-demand access.

Who It Helps

People with spinal cord injuries, wheelchair users, and anyone with limited lower-body mobility who wants a free, high-quality fitness experience at home. Classes are open to all ages, fitness levels, and mobility situations with no equipment required.
