About this resource

About

Sociability was founded with the mission of ensuring that every person, regardless of ability, can find and access the spaces they want to visit. The app was rebuilt from the ground up in late 2024 (version 3.0.0) to improve usability and coverage.

What It Does

Sociability crowdsources detailed accessibility profiles for cafés, bars, restaurants, and other venues, including specifics such as table heights, number of steps, door widths, lighting levels, and noise environment. Instead of a binary "accessible/inaccessible" label, the app gives users enough detail to decide for themselves whether a venue meets their specific needs. Venues can also claim their profile and add verified information.

Who It Helps

Disabled people with a wide range of access needs — wheelchair users, people with sensory sensitivities, those with fatigue conditions, and others — who want concrete, standardised venue accessibility information before travelling or going out.
