About this resource

About

Based in the Twin Cities, Minnesota, The Show Art Gallery was founded in 2013 with a mission to promote diversity and provide a welcoming space for artists with disabilities regardless of training or background. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, The Show partners with local arts institutions and participates in major Twin Cities arts events to expand visibility for its artists.

What It Does

The Show runs a public gallery with rotating exhibitions, an annual Co Lab exhibition pairing self-taught and professional artists in collaborative projects, and participates in the Saint Paul Art Crawl. Its online marketplace lets visitors purchase original works directly from artists with disabilities. The organisation also issues open artist calls year-round and offers volunteer opportunities for community members who want to support the work.

Who It Helps

Adult artists with any disability who want to exhibit, sell original work, and build a professional arts profile in a supportive, inclusive environment. Also serves art buyers and supporters who want to purchase work directly from disabled artists and contribute to artists' livelihoods.
