About
Vermont Adaptive Ski & Sports has empowered athletes with disabilities across Vermont for decades. Operating in partnership with Pico Mountain/Killington, Sugarbush Resort, and Bolton Valley, Vermont Adaptive deploys trained staff and volunteers to deliver ability-first, individualised snow sports experiences. The programme is among the most accessible in the Northeast and accepts participants regardless of financial means.
What It Does
The snow sports programme offers alpine skiing, snowboarding, adaptive alpine racing, Nordic skiing, and snowshoeing. Participants are matched with adaptive equipment—mono-skis, bi-skis, outriggers—and guided by instructors in small groups or one-on-one sessions. Year-round programming extends to kayaking, cycling, hiking, rock climbing, and CORE Connections wellness retreats. A dedicated veterans programme is also available.
Who It Helps
Vermont Adaptive serves children and adults with any disability—physical, cognitive, developmental, or emotional. Scholarship support and a sliding-scale fee structure ensure that cost is never a barrier. Veterans receive dedicated programming, and no prior snow sports experience is required to participate.
